How to Deal with Losing a Family Member

Losing a family member is always hard. To think about not seeing a loved one can feel unbearable! But there are a few suggestions to help heal the wounds.

  1. Looking back at old pictures is an opportunity to smile. Looking back at old memories will bring a smile to your face. Even if it’s only for a little while.
  2. Surround yourself with people that make you smile! Friends are the bright side to turn to. They will be there! Have fun and try to forget about the situation for a little while without feeling guilty. Your loved one would want you to enjoy your life so enjoy your time with your friends.
  3. When you get a chance to be alone, write a letter to your loved one. Tell them how much you miss them, express how you feel. Remind them of your fond memories you keep with you. When you’re done, seal it. Your loved one has read it already! They will be smiling down from Heaven and your mind will be cleared!

Loved ones are hard to let go of, but you don’t have to let go forever! Just accept that whoever it is, is in a better place! You will see them later on, they’re not gone, there in that special place we call, your heart!
